Zhu Yuntao Family Scholarship

Mr. Yuntao Zhu

” This new scholarship is a way for me to help young people achieve their dreams. It is like a gift to give them even more opportunities to explore their lives. Helping others is a pillar for happiness, and is part of our family tradition.” — Yuntao Zhu, parent and donor to Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf

Supporting the education of Brébeuf’s Youth

Yuntao Zhu, 41, was born in the city of Xuancheng in the province of Anhui in southeastern China. This region is well known for its “Yellow Mountain.” Mount Huangshan has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990, because of its spectacular beauty and its significant contribution to Chinese art and culture.

Mr. Zhu wishes to make a significant contribution today in his own way, as a donor to an important factor in our society: education.

Arriving in Canada with his wife in 2007, Mr. Zhu started his family here and is now the father of four children, aged 3, 8, 10 and 12. His eldest, Anaïs, entered secondary school at Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf in the fall of 2020.

“Because of its great reputation, Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf is my community’s first choice when it comes to choosing a school for our children,” he says. “I am so very pleased to have the opportunity to create this scholarship to support the education of the Collège’s young people.”

Mr. Zhu is also donating a scholarship to his alma mater, Anhui Medical University, where he completed his bachelor’s degree in public health. “I wanted to thank them for the great values they passed on to me,” he says.

Yuntao Zhu also holds a specialized graduate diploma in health services administration from Université de Montréal. He first worked in an epidemic data analysis clinic before going into business in 2017.

He is now in the import-export industry as a supplier of paramedical products, as well as products of all kinds, for businesses throughout Québec.
